THIS top-of-the-table clash didn’t live up to the hype with both teams cancelling each other out and neither keeper having a great deal to do.
Basildon started brightly when, after seven minutes, Ryan Sammons whipped in a decent cross, leaving the Bury Town keeper flapping as Darren Esuka headed home to give the Bees an early lead.
In the 15th minute, Bury Town’s Ryan Horne was sent off for a reckless tackle yet Bury grew into the game and in the 40th minute Ethan Mayhew scored a brilliant long-range effort to level the scores.
