It’s hard to decide which aspect of Andy Mangan’s proposed move from the coaching staff of Stockport County to Real Madrid was more astonishing.
The fact that the former Forest Green, Fleetwood Town, Wrexham and Tranmere Rovers striker was genuinely on the brink of swapping Edgeley Park for the Santiago Bernabéu last week, or the way that move of a lifetime was cruelly extinguished by post-Brexit red tape and work permit regulations.
