MERTHYR Town were unable to seal a third consecutive league win as they were held to a goalless home draw by Gosport Borough.
In a back and forth opening, it was the visitors who went closest to opening the scoring.
Merthyr captain Matthew Harris made an important goal-line block from a corner before Alfie Stanley crashed a header off the crossbar moments later.
The home side were unable to create a clear goalscoring opportunity as they struggled to break down a well-organised defence, with both sides heading in goalless at the break.
