Tim Flowers has revealed how his shock switch to Alvechurch FC was as much of a surprise to him as the fans he left behind.
Local rivals Redditch United announced on Saturday that the Premier League-winning goalkeeper had “decided to step down with immediate effect following an approach from another club”.
This prompted criticism from the Valley Stadium faithful amid speculation that he would be heading to Alvechurch. The Church compete in the same division and are located just four miles up the road.
