MARGATE moved into third place thanks to two early goals against Steyning.
Right from the kick-off the Gate pressed the visitors with Kai Garande causing problems. They took the lead in the 13th minute when Jordon Ababio crossed and the ball was flicked onto Ben Allen who steered it home.
Three minutes later Gate doubled their lead when Ibrahim Oulatade rose the highest to head home a Harrison Hatfull corner.
Despite numerous chances for Margate, the score stayed the same until half-time.
