Former Hinckley United boss Dean Thomas has taken over as manager of Kettering Town.

FORMER Hinckley United boss Dean Thomas has taken over as manager of Kettering Town.

The Poppies currently have a winding up petition hanging over their heads – they will be back in court on 53 days time – and were relegated from the Southern Premier League Premier Division last term.

But should they avoid being wound up, they will be hoping to bounce straight back to Step 3 under the guidance of experienced manager Thomas.

Dean Thomas HUThe ex-Wimbledon, Northampton Town and Notts County midfielder has previously been in charge at Bedworth United and Hinckley, where he spent 15 years before leaving in 2012.

His application for the role of Poppies boss was made jointly with current manager Thomas Baillie, who will remain with the club as Thomas’ assistant.
