WHITEHAWK eased past Cray Wanderers to move six points clear of the drop zone yesterday.
Right from kick-off, the home side were onto the front foot and were soon rewarded when Harry Bridle was fouled for a 39th-minute penalty.
Andrew Briggs stepped up to the spot and coolly converted to put the hosts in front.
For Shaun Saunders’ side, it was then a case of hold what you have, as they stood firm against some repeated Cray pressure.
To their credit, the Hawks did just that and even managed to round things offwith a second late on.
