MERTHYR extended their incredible unbeaten league run to 26 matches at Wimborne -but only just.
The league-leaders stroked the ball around confidently as they dominated early possession. Visiting skipper Tom Handley came closest in the opening quarter when he volleyed inches wide from 40 yards.
Wimborne gradually gained a foothold in the game though, and from a corner, Sam Jackson’s header fell to Jack Lovell who flicked the ball over the bar from close range.
