THIRD-placed Belper earned a useful point at Consett, despite playing more than half the game with ten men.
Nathan Whitehead, who had given them the lead, was shown a second yellow card just before half-time after catching Marc Costello with an elbow in an aerial challenge.
Whitehead’s goal came in the 26th minute when Consett failed to deal with a corner and Whitehead was on hand to put them ahead from close range.
