Tulips hang on in five-goal thriller

SPALDING held off a Hitchin fightback to keep them in the hunt for a play-off spot.
The Tulips stormed into a three-goal lead in just over half an hour and it seemed a rout was possible.
But Hitchin, desperate for points hit back to reduce the rrears in a first half that produced five goals and could have brought more.
The Tulips, playing the more fluent football, took the lead after 12 minutes when Jack Roberts slotted home.
The hosts went further ahead when James Clifton finished off an impressive move.
