Southend United’s National League playoff hopes suffered a setback as a goal four minutes into stoppage time from Sutton United substitute Ashley Nadesan denied them all three points at Gander Green Lane.
The Shrimpers appeared to have the game under their control but only had Ben Goodliffe’s 32nd-minute volley to show for their efforts.
It looked to be enough until Nadesan’s timely leveller earned Sutton a point.
