FC Halifax Town continued their preparations for the new season with a goalless draw against Ashton United.
With the Shay pitch still being worked on, Adam Lakeland’s side travelled to Hurst Cross.
But it was the home side who had the game’s first effort in the 11th minute, though Town goalkeeper Nat Ford was untroubled.
The Shaymen went close a minute later, an Angelo Cappello corner met the head of defender Charlie Hayes-Green but his effort was saved by Ashton United keeper Jordan Eastham.
