Whether crisis club Morecambe will be allowed to kick off their National League campaign in two weeks’ time could become clearer by close of play tomorrow (Monday).
The summer saga of whether unpopular Shrimps owner Jason Whittingham’s Bond Group would sell up appears no closer to being resolved one way or the other.
With the club – up for sale since 2022 – in disarray, it’s no wonder the National League have fears about whether Morecambe will be a going concern in the coming season, which is due to begin on Saturday, August 9.
