SPENCER DAY’S Farnborough ended pre-season with victory over National League Eastleigh in the fourth Ted Pearce Memorial Cup – played in honour of the much-admired former Farnborough Town manager.
Rakish Bingham came close with a snapshot in the 34th minute from the edge of the box that Luis Fernandez deflected into the hands of goalkeeper Nick Townsend.
The deadlock was broken after 38 minutes when a mix-up between Nick Townsend and a trialist allowed Bingham an empty net to tap home.
