SEASIDERS CELEBRATE WIN AT THE BITTER END

CONNOR Smith netted a late winner deep into added time to hand Whitby a narrow win at Workington.
Town’s opening game had threatened to be a disaster when the team bus broke down on Bowes Moor.
But although they kicked off 30 minutes late it ended in delight.
Workington goalkeeper Alex Mitchell had got a hand to a shot but it was diverted into the path of Smith who scored.
Workington had edged an entertaining first half with a goal after 29 minutes.
