■ DOWNH joyed a winning start to life at Step 4 with a victory over Bowers & Pitsea.
The visitors controlled much of the first half, with Ben Sartain going closest, but it was Bowers who struck first before the stroke of half-time when Dylan Edge slotted in from Dylan Kirk’s cutback.
AM Town en- Bowers levelled just after the hour, debutant substitute Mike Faulkner curling a superb effort into the top corner.
But within 90 seconds, Downham captain Matthew Castellan rose highest to head in Eoin McQuaid’s corner, restoring the lead....
