■ STANWAY Rovers and Brantham Athletic marked their Step 4 debuts with a draw in a meeting of last season’s Essex Senior and Eastern Counties League champions.
Rovers struck inside the first minute, winning a corner that Tom Maycock swung in for Joe Debell to fire past Will Fletcher. The Brantham keeper kept his side in it with several fine stops before they levelled in the 39th minute, Will Jones’s free-kick taking a deflection to beat Callum Robinson.
