■ HERTFORD got off to a flying start with a comfortable win against Thame.
The Blues took the lead within two minutes when player-boss Ben Herd curled in a free-kick from the edge of the box after Marcus Painter had been brought down.
Thame responded well and nearly levelled after half an hour when Louis Walsh had a shot tipped over by James Callan, but the hosts went into the break ahead.
