■ PORTISHEAD thrashed Didcot Town at Bristol Road, completing a dream start at Step 4 level.
The hosts had twice gone close before Lucas Vowles broke the deadlock by nodding past Diddy keeper Leigh Bedwell after 28 minutes.
By half-time, Portishead had opened up a four goal lead. Captain Kyle Egan netted from the spot after handball in the area, Jay Murray smashed home a rebound after Bedwell had parried Jack Thorne’s effort and following Egan’s corner, Vowles tapped home.
