Barry Island is not an island, and has not been as such for well over a century, since before the docks were built. Neither was this day a football day, with its watery summer sun and supporters lounging in the warmth. Long grasses sprouted to the right of the main stand, with its roof looking like a wafer , with a waffle-like surface.
The club is proud and has achieved much, including the hosting of European ties, but the ground looked like it could do with a makeover and funds looked tight. I was told...
