ANDREW Sesay’s winner was enough for Witham to register their second win of the season.
The hosts deserved the victory for a good second half in which they displayed their dominance.
The game had a good tempo in the first half and the action was free-flowing but there were few goal chances.
Witham goalkeeper Billy Lawlor saved well from Dylan Kirk after 20 minutes as Downham impressed in attack.
Ernest Okoh troubled the Downham defence and Owen Bellamy on his Witham debut impressed for the home side.
