■ HERTFORD took the points in a game that turned on a sending off for the visitors.
There were chances for both sides in an even first half.
Irish took the lead a quarter of an hour in when Owen Brooks was picked out by George Shrieves on a quick breakaway and he opened the scoring.
However, Noah Mosanya levelled for the Blues late in the half and then the game very much swung their way when Kyle Boyce was sent off for a second yellow just before the break.
