BASINGSTOKE ended Gosport Borough’s unbeaten run as they won a dramatic encounter at the AEI Stadium.
Basingstoke broke the deadlock after 20 minutes when Ben Cook’s shot was saved and the ball bounced to Cheick Sylla to hook home.
Borough responded immediately with a succession of dangerous deliveries and one of these led to their leveller after 28 minutes through Benny Reed, who powered a wonderful attempt into the top corner.
