■ EASTBOURNE Town earned a credible point at home to league leaders Croydon Athletic. Both sides failed to get going during the first half.
James Waters was a threat for Town, while Croydon had Louie Theophanous go close, but only firing wide. The hosts had a good chance on the hour mark when Aaron Capon latched onto Joe Overy’s through ball, but from a tight angle couldn’t turn the chance into a goal.
As time wore on, the Rams turned the screw.
