Southend United boss Kevin Maher felt his side did not deserve their defeat to table-topping Carlisle United at Roots Hall.

The league leaders raced into an early two-goal lead with Chris Conn-Clarke and Regan Linney both on target in front of a fine crowd of 8,847.
But Sam Austin got the Shrimpers back into the game and Maher admitted a point was the least Southend’s play warranted.
