■ NEWMARKET won this attritional game by being more clinical with the few chances that were created at either end.
The first in the opening minute was a two-man breakaway by the visitors, with Josh Lee feeding Stanley Leech, potentially offside, for an easy finish.
Michael Bareck almost levelled for Grays, firing just over the bar before Lee doubled the lead, slipping the ball under George Marsh from close range.
Leech had the ball in the net again but was clearly offside.
