■ BOROUGH failed to build on the previous week’s win at Bridlington Town after Harlain Mbayo’s 55th-minute towering header proved decisive for their second-placed visitors.
Alfie Taylor tested the Matlock defence in the early stages but it was the visitors who gained the upper hand with Ryan Viggars and Cam Wilson going close.
A wet pitch brought some tough tackles from both sides but referee Macauley Gibson allowed the game to flow well.
Mbayo rose highest to head in the only goal from a corner ten minutes after the break.
