■ ANDY Scarisbrick scored the only goal as Stalybridge Celtic halted a seven-game unbeaten run in the league for Runcorn Linnets.
He reacted smartly when Liam Tongue’s shot was diverted his way inside the six-yard box on 25 minutes, finishing clinically.
Jon Macken’s men, victors now in five of their past six matches at Bower Fold, almost doubled their lead when Tongue’s strike clattered the crossbar. Runcorn rallied, and striker Scott Bakkor forced goalkeeper Charlie Monks to save smartly on two occasions shortly before the break...
