ASHINGTON continued to climb away from the foot of the table thanks to a second win on the bounce as they overcame Brighouse.
It came courtesy of two penalties against a visiting team who lost their goalkeeper to a red card in the closing stages.
However, most praise was directed at groundsman Scott Robson, whose hard work ensured the match went ahead, albeit it in heavy rain throughout.
