PENYBONT just came up short in an audacious fightback at Colwyn Bay as they eventually slipped to a 5-4 defeat in the JD Cymru Premier.
The Seagulls flew into a 4-1lead inside the opening half-hour with two goals from Jordan Davies, and one each from Jamie Cuming and Sol Forde. James Crole’s 18th of the season at least kept the visitors in the hunt.
Mael Davies then added an second in added time at the end of the first half. But Colwyn Bay were in no mood to fold and Davies went on to complete his hat-trick to make it 5-2.
