CHESHAM moved into the play-off zone for the first time and extended their recent run to 19 points from a possible 21.
Ebbsfleet made the stronger start and Dom Samuel had already missed a great chance when Charlie Seaman gave them a 12th-minute lead with a fine shot into the far corner.
The home side had one great chance midway through the half, when visiting keeper Ryan Sandford missed a clearance and Josh Addae lobbed towards the unguarded net but Mustapha Olagunju got back to hook the ball off the line.
