■ RUNCORN Linnets ran out emphatic victors against a Shifnal side that still hasn’t won since the turn of the year.
Scott Bakkor dispatched a penalty, awarded as a punishment for handball, to set Michael Ellison’s men on a course for victory and goalkeeper Yusuf Mersin produced a smart stop shortly afterwards to preserve the visitors’ early advantage.
The contest was settled during a five-minute spell after the interval when Linnets netted twice.
