STRIKER Louie Theophanous hit a second-half hat-trick as Merstham overcame a spirited VCD Athletic.
The first-half ended goalless, with Theophanous shooting wide and Reece Deakin forcing a comfortable save out of home keeper Rob Tolfrey.
The home side upped the pressure after the break and Olly Allen broke the deadlock after 51 minutes from 15 yards.
