IT’S THE ONLY WAY IN ESSEX

TWO of the grassroots leagues in Essex have merged.
The Mid-Essex League, which was founded in 1898, voted to wind up and amalgamate with the Essex and Suffolk Border League, which dates from 1911, because of its Step 7 status which gives clubs a route to progress up the pyramid.
The enlarged Essex and Suffolk Border League will have Premier and First Divisions, with Second and Third Divisions both divided into north and south.
The league will have around 100 member clubs for the coming season.
