HEMEL Hempstead Town proved just too canny for Kettering – the National League South team toppling their hosts in an entertaining, physical contest.
But if the Poppies had been more clinical then they might have nicked a result against Lee Bircham’s Tudors.
They took the lead on after eight minutes following a misplaced defensive header, but that was as good as it got for the Southern League Premier Central side.
Parity was restored with an excellent goal from Hemel’s Jesse Effa after 20 minutes.
