Which non-league clubs will take part in the FA Vase first round proper?

The FA Vase first round proper draw has been made, with 103 ties set to take place on Saturday, October 10th as clubs continue their journey towards Wembley.

The 180 winners from the second qualifying round are joined by 26 clubs entering at this stage after reaching last season’s third round proper.

Whitley Bay’s FA Vase pedigree counted for nothing at the weekend as Darlington Town produced one of the round’s biggest shocks, winning 2-1 at Hillheads Park thanks to Nathan Stephenson’s late free-kick.

Newport Pagnell Town also impressed, seeing off Virginia Water 2-0 with first-half goals from Fin Jaggard and Corvell Pickering, while Westfields progressed after Tyrese Sibanda’s second-half double secured a 2-1 victory over Stone Old Alleynians.

There were also several emphatic wins, with FC St Helens thrashing Frickley Athletic 9-0 and East Grinstead Town beating Lydd Town by the same scoreline. Holker Old Boys also put seven past Seaton Carew.

Attention now turns to the ties that will determine who reaches the second round proper, with 25 clubs already assured of a place after reaching last season’s fourth round proper.

When will the first round proper take place?

The default date for all 82 ties is Saturday 10 October 2026, with kick-offs scheduled for 3pm – however, ties could be moved in advance.

What is the FA Vase prize money?

There is £825 on offer to every winning club in the first round proper, while losing sides receive £250.

The second round proper is scheduled for Saturday 31 October, when the competition moves into its next stage.
