SPALDING needed a much-improved second-half performance to finally knock out Hanley.
The visitors got off to a bright start and forced the Tulips’ defence onto the back foot. However, they could turn the pressure into anything tangible and Peter Crook was never really tested.
The first shots in anger came in the 21st and 24th minutes, Zaid Betteka having his effort blocked, then Dan Jarvis clipping the top of the Town crossbar.
