Adam Virgo
A columnist for the Non-League Paper and Football League Paper, Adam enjoyed a successful playing career with Brighton, Celtic, Yeovil and Bristol Rovers before becoming a respected pundit following his retirement. As a summariser for BT, Sky and TNT Sports, Adam has covered England youth tournaments and a wide range of European football, whilst his domestic expertise ranges from the National League to the Championship. Away from the microphone, he has also run an academy for aspiring footballers in his native Brighton and worked as an agent. A real champion of talent in the lower leagues, Adam knows the game inside out.

Chris Dunlavy
Chris has been the Football League Paper’s chief writer for more than 15 years, providing features, insight and analysis, as well as an unmissable weekly column. A regular contributor to the Non-League Paper, he has covered matches everywhere from the Eastern Counties League to the Etihad Stadium - and can call on a wealth of trusted contacts throughout the game. He has also appeared as an EFL expert on Talksport, BBC Radio 5 Live, the EFL Highlights show and the BBC’s Late Kick Off.

Gregor Robertson
A former defender, Gregor began his senior football career at Nottingham Forest having progressed through their academy. He made his debut in the League Cup in 2003 against Tranmere and his Championship debut against rivals Derby County just a few days later. Gregor went onto play for Rotherham United and Chesterfield – where he was part of the League Two title winning side in 2011 – before spells at Crewe Alexandra and Northampton Town. He moved into Non-League with Grimsby Town and was Wembley winner as they returned to the EFL in 2016 through the National League play-offs. The former Scotland U21 international studied a three-year degree in sports writing and journalism at Staffordshire University and, as well as a columnist for The Non-League Paper, writes for The Times where he is a regular on their popular The Game podcast.

The Non-League Paper’s very own mystery shopper, Groundhopper’s identity is kept under wraps as he travels the country to record his unmissable diary of visits. Whether it’s a printed programme or tasty treat from the food bar, Groundhopper gives his honest assessment of his experience of Non-League grounds from all corners and levels of the country. He might even find somewhere to stop for a spot of bird watching along the way!

Jon Couch
Jon is The NLP’s Executive Editor, a role he has held for almost a decade in a stellar journalistic career spanning 31 years. ‘Couchie’, as he is affectionately known, has actually been on board with The NLP almost from the beginning, covering the likes of Aldershot Town and Farnborough Town as a freelance reporter. During that time, Jon was Sports Editor of the award-winning News & Mail series for 12 years, over two separate stints, having initially learned his trade as a news reporter. Jon was Sports Editor of London business title CityAM for four years from 2006 and has also undertaken a number of freelance roles over the years, serving the likes of the Sunday Times, iPaper and Reading Post as well as Golf Monthly and Zoo magazines. Non-League football, though, is in Jon’s blood with his musings often heard on talkSPORT radio and The Non-League Football Show podcast. Jon is also Executive Editor of sister titles, The Cricket Paper and Racing Ahead magazine.

Matt Badcock
Matt is editor at large of The Non-League Paper, a role he has held since 2019. He joined The NLP as a staff writer back in 2009 fresh out of News Associates in Wimbledon where he achieved his NCTJ qualification. Matt grew up watching Non-League football – his first trip to Wembley was as a six-year-old for the 1991 FA Vase final – so writing for The NLP is the dream job. Away from football he enjoys running – seven marathons and one ultra so far – as well as watching all sports, especially NFL.

Steve Hill
Steve Hill is an experienced freelance writer whose work has been published in such diverse organs as FourFourTwo, The Guardian, The Independent, The Mail On Sunday, Maxim, loaded, Esquire, PokerPlayer and PC Zone, among many others. A Chester fan since 1984, he lives in London and his long-distance support was the subject of his debut book, The Card: Every Match, Every Mile, which was nominated for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year Award.

Tony Incenzo
Non-League Paper columnist Tony Incenzo is an experienced football broadcaster who has worked for Clubcall, Capital Gold, IRN Sport, talkSPORT Radio, TalkTV and Sky TV Soccer Saturday. His lifelong love of Non-League football began on the terraces at Hendon FC back in the 1970s. He has since visited more than 2,600 different football grounds in his matchday groundhopping.
