Former Beachboy Signs For Dartford

Dartford have signed defender Matt Fry from newly-promoted Conference South club Concord Rangers.

DARTFORD have signed defender Matt Fry from newly-promoted Conference South club Concord Rangers.

The 22-year-old began his career with Premier League club West Ham United, signing a pro deal at Upton Park in 2009 after initially joining them aged 11.

While on the books of the Hammers he spent time on loan at Gillingham and Charlton Athletic, with whom he had two spells during the 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons.

Matt FryHe had his West Ham contract terminated in January 2012 and subsequently linked up with then-League Two side Bradford City.

After making six appearances for the Bantams he left them and dropped down the footballing pyramid to sign for Concord.

Fry won the Ryman Premier Division play-offs with the Beachboys last season but instead of staying with them to play regional Conference football he has made a further step up to join the Darts in the national division.
