FREE AGENT Indy Aujla is looking to settle down and finally find some consistency before the start of the new season following a nomadic year in Non-League.

The 25-year-old moved between Frickley Athletic, Forest Green Rovers and Whitehawk last term following two seasons at Belgium thirdtier side RRFC Montegnée.

His gutsy performances first for the Blues and later for the Hawks earned him a trial at Leeds, where first-team coach Neil Redfearn commented: “Indy has two good feet, a good touch and has fitted straight in with the lads.”

Having moved back up to his hometown Bradford and garnered interest from several Football League clubs, Aujla is hoping his experiences across the channel will bring some stability and a regular first-team place.

“Belgium was a great experience and it’s so fulfilling when you adapt to a different style of football,” he told The NLP.

“The more strings to your bow, the better. It was more technical than the English game, and obviously I had to work on my French when I moved over!

“Moving to Frickley was a complete contrast. The football at Montegnée was football specific, whereas over here it’s more old-fashioned. Now I feel it’s the time for me to really push on.

“I’ve got some irons in the fire, but I’m willing to listen to clubs with ambition. I want some consistency in my career, and I think I’m at the right stage and in the right position to get that.”
