ENGLAND C manager Paul Fairclough has announced a larger than normal squad in preparation for the forthcoming International Challenge Trophy Group A fixture with Estonia U23.

The game will be played at The Shay Stadium, Halifax on Tuesday 18 November and the increased size of the squad is due to the possibility of FA Cup first round replays which are scheduled for the same week as the game.

Fairclough said:  “There is little we can do apart from hope for the right outcomes over the coming weekend. If the results go a certain way then up to ten players may have to be released and replaced.

“I am of the opinion that I have covered all possible eventualities and whatever 16 are involved against Estonia will, as usual, perform to their highest level”

Estonia also have selection issues with five of their initial squad on stand-by to join the full squad ahead of their Euro 2016 qualifiers over the international week.  Estonia are of course in the same qualifying group as England.

The Three Lions squad will be trimmed to 16 after the weekend FA Cup ties.
