NATHAN ARNOLD’S spectacular double against Easteigh has put Grimsby Town in the Vanarama Conference play-off semi-final driving seat.
Arnold, on loan from Cambridge United, stunned the home side just three minutes in, looping a 20-yard volley over Ross Flitney in the Spitfires’ net.
The game, played in front a bumper 3,251 crowd at the Silverlake Stadium, turned scrappy and the home side grabbed an equaliser in the 62nd minute through Yemi Odubade.
But that man Arnold stepped up again for the Mariners. His unstoppable strike in the 72nd minute gives his side an all important lead as they head into the return leg at Blundell Park on Sunday.
