Eastleigh Virtually Debt Free After Wonderful Gesture

have received a huge boost from the news that two individuals have agreed to write-off loans totalling around 260,000 pounds.

Former chairman Paul Murray has turned his 70 grand loan into a donation, while current shareholder Steward Donald has done the same with a 190,000 pound sum.

Speaking about the gesture, club spokesman Darren Nangle said: “I think what these two individuals have done is superb and on behalf of all at the words ‘thank you; should not be under estimated on this occasion.

“Paul has donated around 70,000 pounds. This clearly shows how he feels about the club and how strong his desire is to see Eastleigh continue to prosper. He is a massive fan and has been instrumental in the success of the club over recent years working tirelessly.

“The Eastleigh fans and the wider community have been very fortunate to have such an individual involved in their club.

“Stewart's donation of over 190,000 pounds is an incredible gesture and further demonstrates his commitment and passion for Eastleigh FC.

“He is thoroughly enjoying his involvement and is as dedicated as ever. With the current board also donating an awful lot of their own time and funds, it puts us in an incredibly strong position despite these challenging financial times.”

The donations mean the Blue Square Bet South club are now virtually debt free.
