GRANT BROWN has been placed in caretaker charge of Lincoln City following the departure of David Holdsworth.

Holdsworth left Sincil Bank by mutual consent on Sunday with the club just four points above the Conference Premier relegation zone.

Former club captain and current head of youth Brown takes the reins for a third time, having managed the first team twice in October 2007 and four times in October 2011.

The Imps, who lost 3-2 to United on Saturday, face relegation rivals at home on Saturday, before welcoming promotion chasers Mansfield Town to Sincil Bank in eight days time.
