JAMES MARWOOD has rejected a new deal with Gateshead and has subsequently left the Tynesiders.
The winger joined the Heed three seasons ago following spells with Newcastle United and Blyth Spartans.
He went on to feature over 80 times for them, although the majority of his 31 appearances last season came off the bench.
Marwood has now decided to seek regular first-team opportunities elsewhere and Heed boss Anth Smith says there won’t be a second offer.
Speaking to the club’s website, Smith said: “Marwood has turned down the offer of another one-year deal and we won’t be pursuing the matter further.
“It was an opportunity for him to progress and perform on a consistent basis but he has decided his future lies elsewhere and we wish him well.”
