Pin-up Alex Parsons is a Rocks and role model!

By Sheridan Robins

WHEN it comes to being a model professional, Alex Parsons is one to watch.

Not only are his Bognor Regis side pushing for promotion from the Ryman Premier, he has also been snapped up by The Sun in their most recent ‘Hunk Hunt'.

The reward for his modelling talents was a photoshoot for the newspaper as he hit the back of the net during their search for a male model.

The 22-year-old striker told : “I received plenty of banter as we had a home match last week and that is when the paper came out. There were a few of them flying around the changing room from the lads.

“Every week fines are handed out for things and dirty boots is one of them. I somehow ended up with the fine after all the lads had seen the paper – it wasn't really going to go any other way.”

Parsons was convinced that he was the victim of some sort of conspiracy and despite scrubbing up for his moment in front of the camera; he was then accused of not cleaning up ready for their match.

Celebrations

The young forward has been around the block somewhat in recent years, enjoying spells at , and before joining the Nyewood Lane club in 2014.

“I have played since I was six and joined at 14,” he said. “When I was 19, I got released from the club so I joined the Nike Academy. I had been on the move for three or four years but I finally feel right at home here.”

Winner of last season's “goal of the season” Parsons is looking to promotion this term rather than pursuing his modelling career.

He said: “If I get some work from the modelling then I'm not going to say no but I am really enjoying my football. Last season was disappointing for us but this season feels a lot better. We have got a really good tight-knit squad.

“We had a young team last season and we had lost players. But this time we are stronger and want to get to the play-offs.”

The Rocks have started the campaign well after a disappointing 14th-place finish last year, winning four of their opening seven matches.

But they will be hoping their star striker is only snapped up by photographers eager to catch his celebrations.

“Our main goal is to get back in to the top five again,” Parsons added. “I feel we are capable of doing that.”
