BARRY FRY says are dodging Peterborough's calls as they look to lodge an offer for Ricky Miller – but he can't blame them for sending him to voicemail!

Fry believes Dover are not willing to sell the 's top scorer for any price as the Whites get serious over their promotion bid.

Miller has scored 22 goals this season – payback, he says, for the club sticking by him when he was at his lowest ebb.

The striker was sacked by Luton Town following his arrest for an alleged racially aggravated assault on a taxi driver two years ago. He was cleared in court in October 2015 and by that point he was a Dover player.

He told that his best ever season was born from that fact that the weight of the trial is finally off his mind.

His form has attracted plenty of interest with Forest Green Rovers very keen to make him theirs – though National League promotion rivals Lincoln City are said to have been priced out of a move.

It may not matter anyway if Fry is to be believed as Dover slap a ‘not for sale' sign on Miller's head.

The colourful Peterborough director of said: “We've been in for Miller, he's a good player and he's one we wanted but it doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

Prospect

“We've tried getting in contact with Dover but they're not returning any of our calls. It looks like they want to keep him there to help get them in the play-offs. I can't blame them really for not taking the calls, I probably wouldn't! It's probably not going to happen now.”

Dover may want to pick up – League One Posh have money burning a hole in their pocket after beating in midweek to set up an third round tie at Premier League leaders Chelsea.

Posh have already bagged another prospect in 's Junior Morias. The deal for the 21-year-old, who hit the headlines with two FA Cup first round goals against Carlisle United, will go through on January 1.

They saw off competition from another club with promotion ambitions to sign the striker on a two-and-a-half year deal.

Fry added: “He's another good player and we've kept a good eye on his progress.

“We love taking on the Non-League players and giving them their chance. We've always found them fantastic to work with – they respect the opportunity, they listen when you speak and they want to be coached – unlike some players!

“They arrive with a built-in desire which we love at Peterborough, it's why we keep looking and why we always will.”

  1. Ricky has scored an unbelievable 28 goals so far this season. (23 league and 5 cup). As he is out of contract soon, wouldn’t it be in Dovers interest to get something for him?
