National League side Macclesfield Town have completed the signing of attacking midfielder Koby Arthur following his release from Championship side Birmingham City.

The exciting 21-year-old, who was once described as a “pocket battleship” by former Blues boss Lee Clark, can play in wide areas or behind the striker, and has signed a one-year contract with the Silkmen after impressing while on trial.

The Ghanaian came through Birmingham’s academy, and played in the same youth side’s as Leicester winger Demarai Gray, but left the club in May after making 16 first-team appearances.

Despite his young age, Arthur arrives at Macclesfield with good experience thanks to his time playing for Birmingham, while he also made seven appearances in League Two with Cheltenham last season.

Macclesfield’s 13th signing of the summer also has National League experience following a spell with Lincoln City, and has enjoyed a good pre-season that included a highly-impressive cameo against Derby County.

Arthur will now be available for Macclesfield’s highly-anticipated season-opener against Wrexham on Saturday.

This signing by Macclesfield T.F. C. is very good news. K. Arthur will be a excellent buy. not only for now. but for the future, as the season goes on, he will be spotted by league clubs in the Premiership and the Champions league. Then could be sold for lot of cash for the club. Amen.
