Solihull Moors have completed the signing of exciting Burton Albion youngster Ben Fox on a one-month load deal.
The 19-year-old, who is most comfortable playing as an attacking midfielder, came through the ranks at the Pirelli Stadium and made his debut for the club against Liverpool in last season’s League Cup.
Fox has Non-League experience, having enjoyed much of last season in the National League North with Tamworth, and also scored against current Championship leaders Cardiff City during one of his two Brewers appearances this term.
Moors boss Liam McDonald is delighted with the arrival of his latest recruit, and told the club’s website: “I have kept an eye on Ben’s progress in recent years, especially last season when he had a long loan spell at Tamworth.
“He is a quality young player and will go straight into the squad for tomorrow’s home game against Macclesfield.”
The game against Macclesfield is an important one for Moors, as they look to build on an encouraging midweek win over Chester – a defeat that saw Blues manager Jon McCarthy lose his job.
Looking ahead to the game, McDonald confirmed in his pre-match notes on Solihull’s website that the squad will be unchanged from the one that played on Tuesday night, although Zain Westbrooke is suspended.
“It will be good to play Macclesfield tomorrow – they play good entertaining football and it will be a tough but exciting game.” said the Moors manager.
“The Chester result will be good for our confidence. It was a match where we stuck to our team set up and the back four were solid throughout. There were some great moves quickly from defence.
“We all loved the atmosphere created by the home fans last Saturday – get behind the lads like that tomorrow and you will be our twelfth man again!”
