Promotion-chasing Macclesfield Town have completed the signing of powerful striker Shamir Mullings on an initial two-month loan deal.
Despite being second in the National League table and in with a shot at a return to League football, Macclesfield have scored just 19 goals in 18 games.
Seeking to maintain their charge for promotion, boss John Askey moved to bolster him attacking options by bringing the former Chelmsford City forward to Moss Rose.
Mullings, 24, quickly attracted interest from Forest Green Rovers after blasting his way to 14 goals and five assists in 22 appearances for the Clarets, moving to Gloucestershire in 2016.
A club statement confirming the signing, read: “Macclesfield Town are pleased to announce the signing of Forest Green Rovers striker Shamir Mullings. The 24-year-old has signed an initial two-month loan deal with the Silkmen and will be eligible to make his Macclesfield debut at Barrow on Saturday.”
Mullings has found regular first-team opportunities hard to come at the New Lawn, making nine appearances for Mark Cooper’s side and finding the back of the net once.
